Background: The rapid advancement of digital health technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) presents both challenges and opportunities for family medicine. This SIG aims to create a platform for young family doctors to explore, discuss, and share knowledge about these advancements and their impact on primary care practice and to encourage them to do researches on this topic.
Aims:
- Building a network of early career GPs/FM doctors interested in digital health and AI
Specific aims:
● Share current information about AI and digital health technologies relevant to family medicine practice
● Organise online and in-person meetings on this topic
● Foster collaboration on research projects investigating the application and impact of digital health and AI in primary care settings
● Promote discussion and critical reflection on the ethical, social, and practical implications of integrating these technologies into family medicine
Objectives:
- Establish an active online community forum (e.g., WhatsApp, online platform) for members to connect, exchange ideas, and share resources
- Share relevant research findings, and articles on this topic
- Share course opportunities and educational materials related to digital health and AI within the network
- Organise regular online and in-person meetings (lectures, workshops etc.) at WONCA/EYFDM events to discuss relevant topics
- Organise online webinars featuring experts in digital health and AI
- Facilitate collaborative research projects on the application and impact of digital health and AI in family medicine
- Support members in developing research proposal and presenting research findings at WONCA/EYFDM events and other relevant conferences.
- Promote awareness of the potential benefits and challenges of digital health and AI in family medicine among healthcare professionals and the public
- Contribute towards increasing the healthcare professionals and community’s digital health literacy
