Background: The importance and value of leadership is being increasingly recognised within healthcare. Doctors in family medicine are often seen as leaders within healthcare organisations, educational establishments, staff teams, and patient encounters, as well as within wider healthcare policy and research.
Aims:
- Create and develop an inclusive and diverse network of early career GP/FM doctors with an interest in leadership
- Further knowledge in medical leadership, particularly (but not exclusively) in relation to family medicine/ general practice
- Build knowledge and develop skills in leadership amongst members of EYFDM
Objectives:
- Have an active and supportive community forum e.g. through
Whatsapp - Discuss, develop, and implement projects and/or research
relating to leadership through online and face to face meetings in
and around WONCA and EYFDM events - Submit research and/or teaching related abstracts to WONCA/EYFDM events for delivery as oral and workshop presentations
- Work closely with and complement the work of other medical leadership programmes within healthcare, including ASPIRE (WONCA)
